QiSSN Carnival

During the holidays, our Open Netball Team participated in the QiSSN Carnival with outstanding results to finish 3rd in Division 4, representing Mount Alvernia College with pride, determination, and teamwork throughout the competition.

After a well-earned break, the team will return to training in the coming weeks as they prepare for their next challenge — the prestigious Vicki Wilson Championships. This invitation-only event brings together the very best school netball teams, and we are incredibly proud that our Open Netball Team has earned the opportunity to compete on this elite stage.

This marks a significant milestone, as no other Mount Alvernia College netball team has previously been invited to participate in this competition. Congratulations to the players and coaches on this remarkable achievement.

Thank you to our Sports Team for their support of the students throughout the carnival, including QiSSN Coordinator Emma Boswood, Head of Sport Charmaine Ferguson and Sport Coordinator Kat McCain. 

A special mention to our team Captain, Jess S, who was awarded the Mount Alvernia College Most Valuable Player.  Coaches from each team nominated one player from their own team and one player from the opposing team as the MVP for each game.  A tally of votes is kept and the player from each team with the most votes at the end of the carnival is awarded the MVP for their team.

Congratulations, Jess, on this amazing achievement, and for leading by example on and off the court.
