Monday – Kick-Off Challenge Day – The Nook

Start Maths Week with a bang!

Trivia Competition - Do you have what it takes?

Come to The Nook at First Break to test your knowledge, trust your instincts, and see if you can uncover the answers to a series of surprising questions. Some will make you think, some will make you guess, and some may leave you completely stumped.

Compete against your friends, climb the leaderboard, and see who will be crowned the Mt A Trivia Champion.

Tuesday – Maths Games Day - The Nook

Discover the mathematics hidden in strategy, probability, and logical thinking.

Come along to The Nook at lunchtime and challenge your friends (or teachers!) in a range of exciting games, including:

• Greed
• Triominoes
• Chess
• Yahtzee
• Pass the Pigs

Whether you're a seasoned competitor or a beginner, there will be plenty of opportunities to play, learn, and have fun.

Wednesday – Pi Approximation Day – La Cucina/Picnic Rug

Celebrate one of mathematics' most famous numbers with a maths challenge and pie delights from La Cucina.

What is a Pi Approximation?

Pi (π) is a special number used when working with circles. It is the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter and is approximately equal to 3.1415926535.... Because π is an irrational number, its decimal digits continue forever without repeating.

A pi approximation is a value that is close to π but easier to use. Common approximations include:

• 22/7 (≈ 3.142857)  NOTE: 22/7 is the 22nd July which is TODAY!!!!!

   

 π Memory Challenge – Today!

Think you know your π? Put your memory to the test and see how many decimal places of Pi (π) you can recite! Come to the Picnic Rug at First Break to compete.

The student who memorises the most correct decimal places will earn the right to pie a teacher in the face. Will you stop at 3.14, or can you make it all the way to 100 digits and beyond? Come along and prove you're Mt A's Pi Champion! 🏆🥧π

La Cucina Pie Day

To honour Pi Day (with a delicious twist!), La Cucina will be selling a selection of sweet and savoury pies throughout the day. Because what's better than learning about π while enjoying a pie?

Thursday – Multiplication Showdown The Nook

Can You Beat the Teachers?

Put your mental maths skills to the ultimate test in our Multiplication Challenge.

Students will have the opportunity to compete against staff members in a fast-paced battle of speed and accuracy.

Prize: Win a La Cucina voucher and earn serious bragging rights if you can beat the teachers!
