What we've been doing...

It's been a fun few weeks in 1/2LT. Chase and Penny finished their HERO award charts and were able to place a token on the big wall. 

Penny and Ella showed us a science experiment using a bottle of water and a pin. How did the water stop and start coming out of the hole?

The children have enjoyed moving and showing off their dance moves to a range of songs.

We've learnt more about each other during Talk Time on Mondays. It's been fabulous how the children have embraced this and are already showing growing confidence as they share each week. 

Inquiry

We've been exploring the wonderful Julia Donaldson book - The Gruffalo. The children have read the book, watched the short animation and are now learning the lines to the play! The children have had so much fun adding sound effects and practising in class. 

Ed in Faith

The Prayer Backpacks have now started going home. They each contain a selection of crafted prayer activities to do with the whole family. Madison and Leah are first two students to take them home. All the grade 2's will have a turn, and then the grade 1's sometime over the course of the year. 

We've also been learning about the sacriment of baptism and the symbolic items that are present during baptisms. 

Maths

Over the past two weeks, Ms Laura and Ms Terri's math group have been learning about telling the time. We have done a lot of hands on learning, including making a human clock! Thank you Aurelia, who, brought in a special book from home to share with us, all about time.
