As we move into Week 6, our Year 3 and 4 students are reflecting deeply on the season of Lent. It is a special time in the Church calendar where we focus on growing our hearts and becoming the best versions of ourselves. A key part of this journey is Reconciliation. We’ve been discussing how saying "sorry" and making amends isn't just about following rules—it’s about healing our relationships with others and with God. Through prayer and small acts of kindness, our students are learning that Lent is a wonderful opportunity for a "fresh start" as we prepare for the joy of Easter.
We're looking forward to six of our Year 3/4s celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation at the end of March: Jett B, Selena Z, Mia B, Patricia J, Thomas O-C and Charlie T
In Literacy, our Year 3/4 students are continuing to thoroughly enjoy our novel study of Yirra and Her Deadly Dog, Demon. Through this engaging text, students are exploring rich and descriptive vocabulary to deepen their understanding and enhance their learning experiences. We have been discussing the meaning of new and interesting words such as 'sprawl and squirm", and practicing using them in our own speaking and writing. Students have also been learning about conjunctions and how they help us join ideas together in sentences. They are applying this knowledge by writing their own sentences using conjunctions to make their writing more detailed and cohesive. It has been wonderful to see their confidence growing as they experiment with new vocabulary and sentence structures.

We are looking forward to hosting assembly tomorrow! Please come along and join us as we celebrate all the work we have been doing in 3/4D.

Have a great week!
Kind regards,
Mrs Debbie Terry and Miss Jane
