Prep News

I  have now completed all the required Prep assessments and our Prep rest days are finished. We welcome our Preps back full time next week.

In READING, we have been learning about LIPS THE FISH (sometimes we can look at the picture and guess the word). However, we often guess wrong. Now that we know more sounds, our focus is to use STRETCHY SNAKE to help us decode every word.

I am so impressed with the Preps writing. They are becoming very competent at hearing the sounds in words and labelling their pictures. Check out some of the AMAZING writing samples below.

In Maths we have started a measurement unit. We have discussed and explored the difference between length and height and explored how to measure using informal units eg unifix blocks, paper clips.

We discovered that Willow K has the tallest and Mackenna the shortest height.

Willow K has the longest foot and chad the smallest length foot.
