Library News

Welcome back to the library for Term 4!
The term has started off in an exciting fashion in the library. Our weekly 'new book' displays are proving a hit with the students. It's great to see them noticing the new books advertised on the Vivi screens in the classroom, then rushing to the library to check them out. We have started some new magazine subscriptions, including Krash, National Geographic Kids and Australian Guitar (for our resident musos!)
In keeping with Oberon's focus on student voice and agency, a new display in the library focuses on student recommendations. Our students have varied tastes, but it really shows there is something for everyone in our library!
We have recently added some dyslexia-friendly titles to our collection, with popular theme like soccer, gaming and mystery. These books have specialised layouts, dyslexia-friendly fonts and off-white pages to reduce visual stress. If you feel this would benefit your student, encourage them to speak to the library staff or their English teacher.
We've also seen an influx of year 12s coming to the library to pore over the 'Class of 2026' photo display. If you are a parent coming to Celebration Day, please make sure to stop into the library and see if you can spot your sweet young person!
