Fashion Awards Australia

Last Friday, 16 Year 9 & 10 Fibre students had the exciting opportunity to attend the Fashion Awards Australia in Werribee. Leading up to the event, students spent many hours in class transforming recycled denim into unique garments, showcasing their creativity, design skills and commitment to sustainable fashion.

The students enjoyed a fantastic day and evening, experiencing the fashion industry firsthand and seeing their creations showcased on the runway. A highlight of the evening was seeing one of our students, Atlas Craven achieve second place in the Stitch Don’t Ditch category, an outstanding accomplishment given the calibre of competition. This was a wonderful recognition of the creativity, effort and skill invested in their garment.

Congratulations to all seven students who entered garments and a big thankyou to those students who modelled the garments and supported their classmates.

It was a memorable experience celebrating sustainable design, student achievement and the possibilities of textile design beyond the classroom.

Another big thankyou to Mrs Mathers for coming along, it was a very long day not returning until after midnight!
