New Community Partnership Group Alert...........

We are excited to announce a new community partnership between our Grade 4 students and the Tongala Community Activity Centre. This wonderful opportunity will allow students to become actively involved in the local community while developing valuable life skills.

During these visits, students will assist with setting up the café and serving refreshments to guests. A group of local women regularly attend the café, providing a welcoming environment where students can interact with community members and build positive relationships across generations.  These groups will happen every 2nd Thursday in Term 4.

This is our 'School Wide Expectations' regarding behaviour, we refer to it as our 'Behaviour Matrix'

This Matrix is displayed in every classroom at St Patrick's.

The Teachers explicity teach these to the students.

The PBIS Blitz for week 2 and 3 is about seeking assistance from the yard duty teacher straight away.

Have you ever had a problem in the yard? Maybe someone took your turn, there was a disagreement during a game, or you saw someone feeling upset or hurt.

When something goes wrong, the best thing to do is seek assistance straight away.

Angie

Our yard duty teachers are there to help you. They are there to:

  • Listen to what has happened.
  • Help solve problems quickly.
  • Support students who are hurt or upset.
  • Keep our yard a safe, friendly and happy place for everyone.

Sometimes students wait too long before asking for help.

When we wait, a small problem can become a bigger problem. By finding a yard duty teacher straight away, you help keep a small problem small.

The teacher will listen and work with you to find a solution.

Riley

Remember:

  • If you are hurt, seek assistance straight away.
  • If you are worried, seek assistance straight away.
  • If you see someone else needing help, seek assistance straight away.
  • If there is a problem you cannot solve safely, seek assistance straight away.

By asking for help quickly, you are being responsible, respectful and safe.

Let's all work together to make our school yard a place where everyone feels supported and included.
