Student Report

Hello Tarneit Senior College,

We are finally reaching the end of Term 3 - which has been jam-packed with events that brought our school community together!

First off, we would like to say a huge congratulations to all of you - you have been working hard and striving to do your absolute best in your assignments, CATs, SATs and SACs. You are nearly done with the school year, so keep going and don’t give up!

One of the key highlights this term was R U OK? Week, run with the support of our Wellbeing Team. They organised a range of activities during the week breaks, including sports and games, and on R U OK? Day, the school handed out treats and fairy floss alongside valuable resources and merchandise to support student wellbeing, as well as hosting a clay making activity. The week was a great success and was a fantastic way to promote positive conversations and remind everyone to check in with each other.

The Interact Team also had a successful term, hosting two great after-school events. Their Movie Night gave students the chance to relax, enjoy a film and spend time with friends, while their Trivia Night brought out everyone’s competitive side in a fun and inclusive way.

During this term we also had the House Captains organise their own activities. They brought plenty of energy and creativity as well. Barak held a lively Sports Day, Chirnside organised a Scavenger Hunt around the school, where they received Green notes, and Gillard showcased talent and diversity through a Cultural Performance Day for all students to sign up and participate in. We look forward to seeing Penrose House signing off the school year with an exciting event in Term 4 in the first couple of weeks.

Meanwhile, the VCE-VM students hosted their own popular activities, which included the main ones were the slushie stall and bake sale, which were both well supported by students and staff as well.

As the term comes to a close, we also want to wish the VCE-VM, Unscored students and VPC students complete school this week a huge congratulations for pushing and trying their absolute best. At the same time, we would like to wish our VCE students good luck for their indicative exams, scheduled for the first week of the school holidays.

It has been a busy and rewarding term, and we look forward to what next term will bring! We hope you have a great and restful holiday that you all deserve.
