Principal's Report

It’s hard to believe Term 3 has already wrapped up. This has been a term full of activity, and I want to recognise the effort of our staff, students and families in keeping learning at the centre. With Parent Teacher Conferences, Curriculum Days, assessments and major projects all packed in, it’s been a time of growth and achievement across the College.

R U OK? Week

This term we once again highlighted the importance of R U OK? Day. The week leading up to Thursday 11 September was filled with conversations and activities that encouraged students to look out for one another and to reach out if things aren’t going well.

The positive involvement of our student leaders and the willingness of peers to support each other was a real strength of this year’s program.

Celebrating Creativity – Our 2025 Arts Evening

This week, our College community came together for a wonderful celebration of creativity at the annual Arts Evening. The event showcased the incredible talent of our students across visual and performing arts, and it was inspiring to see their courage, innovation and flair on display.

From detailed pencil sketches to striking works with light and shutter speed, from energetic music performances to expressive mixed-media pieces, the breadth and quality of work reflected the diverse strengths of our students.

A special thank you goes to our Arts staff for nurturing the vision and creativity of our students, and to Nick for his leadership in making the evening possible. Most importantly, congratulations to our students for being true to themselves and sharing their creativity so openly with our community.

The Arts Evening was a powerful reminder that while academic outcomes are vital, success looks different for every student. For many of our young people, last week’s event was a moment of true success- and a chance to shine.

Preparing for End-of-Year Exams

As we move closer to VCE exams, it’s important for our senior students to establish study habits that will set them up for success. Regular routines, effective use of resources like past papers, and making time for rest and balance are all critical. Families can support by encouraging quiet spaces, structured study time, and positive reassurance. Together we can ensure our students are ready for the challenges of Term 4.

Our New School Strategic Plan (2025–2029)

This term we also launched our new School Strategic Plan, which outlines our direction for the next four years. The full plan can be accessed on our website here.

The plan focuses on:

  • Raising student achievement through a guaranteed and viable curriculum, improved instructional practice, and stronger use of data.
  • Strengthening wellbeing and inclusion by improving attendance, connectedness and multi-tiered supports.
  • Building professional culture and leadership through clear expectations, collaborative learning and consistent practice.
  • Enhancing transitions and pathways so students are equipped for VCE, further study, training or employment.

Our targets are intentionally ambitious. We want to lift results in literacy, numeracy and VCE outcomes, strengthen student voice and agency, and improve attendance and connectedness.

These stretch goals will ensure our focus stays on both academic success and wellbeing for every student.

Looking Ahead

With Term 4 ahead, Year 12s will be finalising their preparation for exams, while Year 10 and 11 students will soon sit their assessments and step into planning for 2026. Thank you for the ongoing support this term- it has been vital in ensuring our students continue to thrive
