Message

Hats 

With the official welcome of Spring, we are also welcoming back hats in the yard. It has been fantastic to see nearly all our students remember to wear their hats in Week 8. If students do not have a hat, they will need to play quietly in the shade near Breakfast Club, or if they are in Prep and One, they can play on the Terrace Playground. Please double check your child has their hat ready to go and that all hats are named. 

Maths Learning Walks 

This year, the Annual Implementation Plan’s Learning focus has been on building teachers capacity to implement the instructional model in Mathematics. Throughout the year, Ben and myself have been attending collaborative planning with teams across the school to support the planning and teaching of Mathematics. With regular professional learning and reflections at the whole school level, and with our PLC leaders we have helped develop teachers' understanding and improve whole school consistency. 

Over the last two weeks, members of the Leadership team have been conducting Learning Walks in the classroom, observing Maths lessons in action. We have been collecting data on the use of the Instructional Model, including teachers questions that are used to Check For Understanding, and the feedback that teachers provide. It has been a great opportunity to see some high quality maths teaching in action and strong classroom practice, as teachers cater for the needs of their students. 

Alongside the Learning Walks, we also asked our PLC Leaders to rate different aspects of our AIP Learning and Wellbeing Goal, providing us a deeper understanding of how well we are implementing our AIP’s goal.This information will allow us to continue to target our AIP goal in Term 4, and begin to inform our draft Learning Goal for our 2027 AIP.
