Staff Development Day

A reminder that tomorrow, Friday 1st May, is a Staff Development Day. Our staff will be working off-site with colleagues from other schools, focusing on the Key Learning Area of English. Specifically, the day will be dedicated to developing teacher skills in reading comprehension and exploring strategies for how we can improve student outcomes in this area.

The Importance of Punctuality: Starting the School Day Right

We would like to remind all families that punctuality is a vital component of a student's success and learning. Successful students are well-organised and prepared to begin their school day on time. Arriving at school before the 8:45 am bell offers numerous benefits, setting your child up for a positive and productive day:

  • Positive Start and Mindset: Ensures a smooth beginning to the day, placing your child in a positive state of mind to engage fully with their learning.
  • Academic Achievement: Contributes directly to better achievement and better attendance records.
  • Developing Responsibility: Helps children understand the value of education and fosters a sense of responsibility for themselves and towards others.
  • Social Skills: Supports your child in making and maintaining friendships.
  • Future Habits: Establishes positive patterns that will be valuable throughout their future.

PBL

As part of our ongoing commitment to Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) each class spends time reviewing and learning about the expectations in specific areas. This term, specific areas will be reviewed every fortnight.

We encourage you to discuss the fortnightly focus with your child to help us reinforce the PBL (Positive Behaviour for Learning) message.
