Together at The Table

On Wednesday we welcomed St Mary’s Parishioners as we gathered for the G’day Weekday Mass with the Healy Community (Foundation, Years 1 & 2).

United in prayer and song, we celebrated our shared faith and strengthened the beautiful connection between our parish and school community.

Our Foundation learners opened our Mass signing the song ‘Hail Mary’ led by our Auslan teacher, Lori Hedwards. Such a powerful and moving way to begin our prayer.

The learners participated with joyful voices and reverent hearts, creating a spirit of togetherness that was felt throughout the Brigidine Centre.

We are grateful to our parishioners for joining us and supporting our youngest learners as they grow in faith, friendship, and understanding.

We hope you enjoyed your light luncheon and look forward to your return next term.

NAIDOC Week

The acronym NAIDOC stands for the National Aboriginal and Islanders Day Observance Committee. Its beginnings date back to the 1938 Day of Mourning protest in Sydney, which was one of the first major civil rights gatherings for Indigenous Australians. It expanded from a single day to a full week of national celebration in 1975.

NAIDOC Week is an annual Australian observance that celebrates the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

NAIDOC Week runs from Sunday 5th July to Sunday 12th July 2026. As this important week falls in the school holidays, we will acknowledge this important week in prayer in Year level shared spaces on the last day of the term.

Sow a Seed, Feed a Need.

Our Year 6 Caritas Social Justice Leaders will take on the responsibility of revitalising our school vegetable garden.

Through this initiative, they will plant, grow, and harvest fresh fruit and vegetables to support outreach programs for those in need. Produce from the garden will also be used to provide ingredients for meals, helping our school community live out the values of service, compassion, and social justice.

To support this initiative, we are seeking donations of vegetable, herb, and fruit seeds. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help our learners develop a sustainable garden that can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
