Rehearsals are in full swing for Trinity Anglican College’s Junior School musical, Dare to Dream Jr! Featuring a collection of popular and well-loved Disney songs, this magical production is already generating great excitement. Students are doing an amazing job as they learn dances and vocals, while costumes and props are being created behind the scenes. Congratulations Harley!

Over the weekend Harley Gurr competed in the 2026 Victorian State Solo & Ensemble Championships.

We are incredibly proud to announce he took out 1st place in the Junior Novice Other Brass category.

Congratulations Harley, you should feel very proud of yourself.  Your hard work and dedication has paid off.

Dance Excursion

Recently, students from Years 4–11 in both our co-curricular dance program and curriculum Dance classes attended The Australian Ballet and The Australian Ballet School On Tour at the Albury Entertainment Centre. The experience provided a wonderful opportunity for students to observe elite dancers and gain insight into the training, technique and professionalism required to perform at the highest level. Our students represented the school exceptionally well and were a credit to our dance program throughout the morning.

Students were fascinated by the speed and precision with which ballet master Paul Knobloch delivered instructions in French, guiding dancers through each exercise with remarkable efficiency. We learned new ballet terminology, including soutenu and en cloche, and were amused to discover that “lame duck” is an actual ballet step. One of the most memorable moments came when many of us realised that Paul was not repeatedly reprimanding one of the dancers named  Jeremy Hargreaves on stage, but was instead directing the accompanist Jeremy Chan to adjust the tempo of the music - a discovery that caused some giggles amongst the group.

The dancers inspired our students with their extraordinary technical skill and artistry. We marvelled at the multiple pirouettes, the strength and elegance of the dancers performing en pointe, and the impressive height achieved by the male dancers in their jumps. These demonstrations highlighted the discipline, dedication and perseverance required to become some of the best dancers in Australia. Following the class as we waited for our bus back to Trinity, students engaged in thoughtful discussion about what they had observed and the qualities needed to pursue dance at an elite level.

To complete an already inspiring day, our Year 11 Dance students attended the evening performance of The Nutcracker: Act II and Other Works. Experiencing both the educational workshop and a professional performance provided students with a deeper appreciation of ballet as an art form. It was a valuable and memorable excursion for all involved, and we look forward to welcoming The Australian Ballet and The Australian Ballet School back to Albury in 2027.
