MLA

Our MLA students have been enjoying reading The Wild Robot by Peter Brown. As we read together, students have been practising a range of comprehension skills, including summarising, clarifying the meaning of new vocabulary, making inferences and creating visualisations. The visualisation drawings below show how students used clues from the text to imagine and illustrate a scene from the story. 

In Writing, students have been using The Wild Robot as inspiration for their own descriptive writing. They have been learning how to make their writing more engaging by using personification, powerful verbs, descriptive adjectives and rich vocabulary to paint a picture for the reader. We are so proud of the creativity and effort they have shown, and we're excited to share some of their fantastic writing pieces below!
