Year 1/2 Learning Reflection
Weeks 3-4
Term 3

During our Sounds-Write Phonics lessons, our Year 1 students have been practising reading and spelling polysyllabic words. They have learned that polysyllabic words have more than one syllable. We have also been exploring the /er/ sound, sorting words into the five different spelling patterns and building our confidence as readers and writers.

Grade 2 students playing polysyllabic word games.

Library time is one of our favourite times of the week where we get to enjoy all the wonderful books we have in our school library.

During Applied Literacy, Grade 1 students have been planning and writing a narrative. We are practising using adjectives and the conjunction 'and' to add detail to our writing.

This term, we have been learning about the history of our school, exploring what school was like in the past and comparing it with the present day. Students have discovered how our school has changed and grown over time. We also enjoyed a special guided tour around the school, where we explored the unique places that make our school special. Along the way, we learnt how past students and staff have contributed to our school's history and left a lasting legacy for future generations.
