Grade 1 & 2 Sustainability

Sustainability in Action- Year 1/2 Students Lead the Way.

Last term, as part of their learning about sustainability, the Year 1/2 students identified an opportunity to make our school more environmentally friendly. They wrote letters to Julian, asking if paper recycling bins could be purchased for each classroom. After presenting the letters to Julian, he happily agreed to their request and arranged for the bins to be delivered.

To help everyone use the bins correctly, the students in1/2C created posters explaining the importance of recycling and how to do it properly. They then presented their posters along with the new recycling bins to each class. Through this project, our Year 1/2 students showed great initiative and reminded us all how small actions can make a big difference.
