Hi Prep parents,

This fortnight in reading we have been learning about the different genres of Fiction and Non-Fiction. We have been discussing the authors purpose of writing (eg to entertain, give information, give instruction, persuade or communicate)

In writing we have been learning to use all the tools in our "Writers Toolbox", including the sound chart, word wall, tricky word wall, anchor charts and bump it up wall.

In Maths, we have been learning about 2D shapes, focusing on pentagon, hexagon and octagon. This week we have been learning how to collect information and graphing the data, so that we can read the information accurately and quickly. We collected and graphed some M&M data by lining up and counting the colours, representing the colours on a graph and of course, eating the result!!!!
