End of Term 1

A reminder that due to Easter, Term 1 will end on Thursday April 2nd (with  Friday being Good Friday). This is a Special Lunch Day and therefore the canteen will be closed for regular orders. There is an early dismissal on this day of 1.30pm. Please note, buses will run as normal but two hours earlier. (Theircare will run until 6pm for those who have booked in).

An event will be held in the Hay Shed at 9:00am on Thursday April 2nd, where students will have the opportunity to showcase their Easter hats in the Easter Hat Parade. This will be followed by the weighing of coins collected for the Good Friday Appeal fundraiser by the SAT, with an overall winner announced. Coins have been generously donated by students in their classrooms and parents are warmly welcomed to attend.

As this is our last newsletter for Term 1, I would like to take the opportunity to wish all of the students, families and staff a very happy Easter and an enjoyable holiday break. We have had a busy term and next term is shaping up to be equally as busy (please remember to check and make note of dates using the Important Dates page on this newsletter, or the Xuno calendar).

I look forward to seeing you all when school returns for the beginning of Term 2 on Monday April 20th.

Kubota Ride-On Mower

As most of you would now know, we unfortunately had our Kubota Ride-On Mower stolen last week from our shed (next to the main car park). This shed had been securely locked and the intruders used bolt cutters to gain entry and take our mower. This mower, was only a two years old and as you can imagine, very expensive (over $30,000 worth). Obviously if anyone knows anything that can assist us or the police with this matter, we would love you to let us know. Also please keep an eye out for anyone selling a Kubota F2890 mower.

During the first week of the holidays we plan to have some playground soft fall and sandpit sand delivered. It would be fantastic if we had some families who were willing to dedicate some time to help spread these materials under our play structures and in our sandpit. You would need to bring a wheelbarrow, shovel and rake. When it arrives, I will pop a message over Xuno and if you have a spare hour or two over the break and would like to help out, then simply come up to school when you can. Thank you in advance!

Boys To The Bush

We are very fortunate and excited to have been offered a Boys to the Bush Schools Program for Term 2. Last year we had ten boys complete the five week program and they absolutely loved it. This program is designed to get boys in their middle years of schooling, out of the classrooms and into their local community for one day a week (over five weeks). The boys are lead by trained facilitators through a range of hands-on experiences and these are underpinned by conversations and teachings related to  the fostering of resilience, building positive relationships and respect; for self, each other and community. We can not wait for our new crew of 10 to begin their adventures and come back to school to share what they have learned and experienced.

You can read more about this program below.
