Riding the Wave of Success

Pittwater House is proud to celebrate Liam (G10), one of our Pittwater House Elite Athletes.

Liam has a true passion for surfing and has devoted himself to the sport, training daily and competing at an increasingly high level. He first entered the competitive surfing scene in 2020, competing in his first Surfing NSW event at just nine years old, where he placed 2nd overall in the Woolworths Northern Beaches competition. That same year he also represented Long Reef Boardriders (Longy) at the prestigious Manly Aloha competition, where he was the youngest competitor in the event.

Liam surfs every day, often completing two sessions a day, and complements this with High Performance Strength and Conditioning training at Surfers Gym in Cromer. Sponsored by Chilli Surfboards and trained by surf coach Nick James, Liam attends high-performance surf camps during school holidays, as well as international training opportunities such as surf trips to Indonesia.

In 2025, Liam placed 5th at State Championships and was selected as a member of the NSW Surf Team for 2025. He finished 25th overall for U16s in Australia. He is also part of the Surfing NSW LAB Academy Program, which supports the development of emerging elite surfers.

Liam competed this weekend at the Northern Beaches Regional Titles with 6ft waves! He finished 4th in the Under 16s.

Liam’s goals for this year are to improve on his position from last year's Australian Titles, add airs to his repertoire and increase his sponsors. We are excited to watch his progress during 2026, firstly representing the school at the Surf Tag Event at Queenscliff this week (Tuesday 17 March), then throughout the year at National Events scattered amongst Queensland and NSW. We wish him luck in all of these events.

Congratulations to Molly (C8), who recently competed at the 2026 NSW State Open Swimming Championships.

She received 3rd in the 800 meters freestyle and third in the 1500 meters freestyle. This was an impressive feat as the majority of the competitors were years above Molly. A huge congratulations from the Pittwater House community.
