Our Learning – Term 1 Recap

Term 1 has been a busy term for our Year 3 students. They settled into our routines with resilience and have continued to display the school values throughout the term as they adapted to the expectations of Year 3. We are incredibly proud of our Year 3 students for the way they completed their first NAPLAN ever with a positive attitude and growth mindset. We look forward to Term 2 and hope you all have a well-deserved holiday break!

English

  • Develop basic typing skills by practising accurate keyboard use and typing short sentences.
  • Recognise different types of nouns and apply correct capitalisation for proper nouns.
  • Build simple sentences using a capital letter, subject, verb and correct punctuation.

Maths

  • Estimate and measure the mass of objects using grams and kilograms.

SEL

  • Students worked through our last Respectful Relationships lessons by understanding how to make apologies after a conflict.

Inquiry

  • Students created a Belonging Map using the learning from across the term to show all the communities they belong to.

Events and Reminders

Hats Reminder- Just a friendly reminder that students MUST wear hats until April and after September. Please check with your child that they have a school hat and are bringing it to school daily. If they don't have a hat, they will have to play under the shade sails.

Drink Bottles - Please remind your child to bring a drink bottle to school daily so that they have easy access during class learning time.

Family Teacher Conversations - Family-Teacher Conversations will be taking place on Monday & Tuesday April the 27th and 28th (Week 2 of Term 2) from 3:30pm-7:00pm. Bookings are now open on Compass and they'll be open over the holidays. We encourage families to please book a time with your child's classroom teacher to discuss their learning progress and answer any questions you may have.

Ongoing Reporting

Students have completed their final Place Value assessment to showcase their learning throughout Term 1. This was uploaded on Wednesday 1st April on compass under Ongoing Reporting.

Please make sure to log onto compass and look at your child's Learning Tasks and see their hard work in their Maths learning.
