Year 5/6
Endeavour Program
This term, our senior students were challenged to look out at the world, into the community and even into their own hearts, asking one powerful question: “How can I help?” Their responses were inspiring.
Some students created market stalls, turning their skills and interests into meaningful support for causes close to their hearts. Many focused on raising awareness, shining a light on issues that need attention. Others explored how to better care for the planet, finding clever ways to recycle or upcycle items that might have otherwise gone to waste.
They didn’t just imagine a better world, they took action and that is exactly what it means to be a changemaker.
Our seniors discovered that change doesn’t always start with something big. Sometimes it begins with a simple idea, a conversation or a small act of kindness that grows once it’s shared. Through this project they have shown creativity, leadership and importantly, the power young people have to make a real difference. We are incredibly proud of them.
We also want to extend our deepest thanks to our entire school community. Your support played a vital role in the success of our Changemaker Expo. Thank you to everyone who came along, listened to the students’ pitches and supported their stalls by purchasing their handmade products.
Also, a very special thank you to the families of our Seniors. We know many of you helped behind the scenes by buying materials, making jewellery, testing recipes or simply encouraging your child’s idea and helping bring it to life. This was truly a team effort and your partnership made a tremendous difference.
We are incredibly proud to share that, as a school, we raised over $3600 for 19 different charities. What an extraordinary achievement and what a significant impact you have all had on the lives of others.
The chosen charities supported by the students are:
CAMP QUALITY
MONASH CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL
TREE AID
AUSTRALIAN RED CROSS
CANCER COUNCIL
RSPCA
MAKE A WISH FOUNDATION
FIGHT MND
NATIONAL BREAST CANCER FOUNDATION
BUSH HERITAGE
OCEAN CLEAN UP
ROYAL CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL
GOOD FRIDAY APPEAL
SURF LIFE SAVING VICTORIA
RONALD MACDONALD HOUSE
SALVATION ARMY
FUSION
SADAQA WELFARE FUND
MAD FOUNDATION
We never know when any one of us might need to lean on the support of a charity. That is why it is so meaningful to be able to do our part now, helping others who find themselves in a moment of need. Your generosity ensures that help is there when someone needs it most.
As our Seniors move forward, we hope they carry this experience with them - to keep noticing what needs changing, to keep asking how they can help and to keep believing that their actions matter. Because they really do.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this such a memorable and impactful project. The future feels brighter knowing our students are the ones shaping it.
Well done Changemakers!
