The Power of Connectedness
One of the values that helps to make Mt Eliza Primary a special place to learn is promoting and recognising our connectedness with each other and our community. It is always a privilege to invite students up at our assemblies to get a connectedness award and hear about how they have taken care of their classmates or gone above and beyond to make a difference to others in the community. It is this important sense of connectedness that creates shared belonging within our school and makes it a vibrant and inclusive place to learn.
Students have worked hard this term to create connectedness and learning within and beyond the school gates as they have strived to do their best. The recent Year Two future expo created a chance to celebrate learning with parents and share new knowledge and discoveries. Our Year Five and Six students showcased innovation and creativity in hosting the first ever "Changemaker" market at school to design and sell their chosen products in order to raise money for community charities in need. They should be immensely proud of raising over $3000 for those in need.
A highlight of our recent learning included our student led Christmas concert followed by our family fun evening. The students were inspiring in their courage and risk taking as they had great fun singing and dancing for our school community. It was nice to see so many families stay afterwards and connect with each other and get into the Christmas spirit as kids enjoyed the jumping castles, time together and the PTA's sausage sizzle. On a perfect evening, it was a delight to see people sharing Christmas carols, fun and laughter together as we head into the holidays.

We are looking forward to next week connecting with our Year Six students and families as we celebrate the achievements of their primary school journey at graduation. Although we are sad to see these students leave, we know they will go on to great things, promoting the MEPS values, as they make new friendships and connections next year at their new schools.
Kind regards and Happy Holidays,
