Year 1 

Mathematics

The Year 1 students have explored directional language and coding in Maths this term. We had fun in the computer lab coding as well as using the Bee Bots in the classroom. Students have explored through the use of large table grids, how to programme the Bee Bot to start in one position and end in another. Students also worked together using icy pole sticks to create a track on the floor for their Bee Bots to move and weave through the course with success.

Reading and Writing

This term we explored rhyme, poetry and song. Students had lots of fun listening to and creating their own version of popular songs such as 'Hickory Dickory Dock', 'Down by the Bay' and 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star'. They explored poetry and wrote their own Acrostic poem about all the things that make them happy.

We also learnt the song 'I can Sing a Rainbow' and Auslan. The students did a wonderful job of learning, practising and performing at assembly. If you would like to have a go, use the link below to learn the actions!
