Our wonderful year 12 students had their final official day of secondary school last Thursday, which comprised of an assembly, Presentation by Victoria Police regarding Party Safe, 2026 Captains Speech Assembly and a share a plate luncheon in the Senior Study Centre with their teachers. This day commemorated an important milestone in our students lives after 13 years formal schooling and transitioning into the world of adulthood.
Our LSC captain’s speeches reminded me of the breadth of leadership opportunities available to our students and the many inspirational student leaders we have in our college community. I would like to thank all this year’s captains, especially Leo Kostovski and Minh Tran for their contributions to the wider college community, including serving as Community Members of the College council. We wish you success in any future leadership opportunities and know you will embrace any that come your way.
Last Friday the year 12 students attended a Fun Fields Picnic celebration. Their behaviour was exemplary. I am proud to say they participated with wonderful spirit and proudly upheld college values throughout. They now have roughly 10 days to prepare for their VCE exams which start with English on Tuesday 28th October.
Congratulations to the class of 2025! We are incredibly proud of your achievements over the years and wish you all the very best for your exams.
On Tuesday evening we held our annual Spring Music Concert and Art show case. I was incredibly proud to see how our musical program has grown over the past several years. The large number of students who performed was truly astounding. I would like to thank Heather Allen our brilliant Music Coordinator for her incredible work with her team and students and the music staff for the excellent tuition and mentoring they provide all year round.
On this same evening, we also held our Arts show, which celebrated the incredible talent of students studying the arts. Their work was moving and inspirational and once again testimony to the high calibre teaching staff, we are fortunate to have as part of our teaching community. Thank you to Maria Stipcevic for her unwavering passion and belief in the creative potential of a quality arts program for the college. Thank you to the arts team of teachers who nurture, guide and grow this creativity in our students.
