Leadership Day Success

The UPP Leadership Day was a great success, providing students with the opportunity to participate in a range of engaging activities and demonstrate their leadership skills. It was encouraging to see so many students step outside their comfort zones and contribute positively throughout the day.

Next week, we will distribute application forms for the 2027 Year 11 Mentor Program, and we look forward to seeing many of our students consider this valuable leadership opportunity.

Developing Our Guiding Principles

During Extended Pastoral Group (PG) in Week 5, students deepened their understanding of our College Guiding Principles through a variety of discussions and activities. The focus was on Dignity and Empathy, with students exploring how these values can be demonstrated within our College, classrooms, and wider community.

During next week's Extended PG, students will reflect on Dialogue, Community, and Perseverance. These sessions are an important part of helping students understand the qualities that contribute to success at our College, while also supporting them to become responsible, compassionate, and active members of the community.

Assessment and Drafting Expectations

Assessment tasks requiring drafts are now underway. We encourage all students to regularly check the assessment planner and ensure they meet all draft and final submission deadlines.

The drafting process provides a valuable opportunity for students to receive feedback, refine their work, and maximise their achievement. Making full use of this phase is an important step towards success.

Equally, students should be encouraged to revise regularly in preparation for their end-of -term exams.

Toilet Facilities

Recently, there have been incidents of vandalism and misuse in the Senior Boys' Toilets, including damage to door panels and cisterns, as well as toilets being deliberately blocked. This issue has been addressed by the Heads of Year, and as a result, some toilet facilities have been temporarily closed.

We are fortunate to have excellent facilities at our College, and it is important that all students treat them with dignity, respect, and care. Damage to College property affects the entire community and diverts resources that could be better spent supporting student learning and wellbeing.

If students witness any damage or inappropriate behaviour, we encourage them to report it to a staff member immediately so that action can be taken straight away.

We also ask for the support of parents and carers in reinforcing this message at home. Conversations about respecting shared spaces, taking pride in our College environment and speaking up when something is wrong can make a significant difference.
