Student Awards

Primary Week 8

Kenli Knox - For her increased confidence and efforts when completing independent writing tasks.

Chase McGrady - For being a kind and welcoming friend to his classmates.

Regan Moodie - For his dedication and effort towards writing and practicing his speech about the Sydney Rabbitohs.

Shaylyn Smith - For willingly contributing to discussions in Maths and showing engagement when learning about diagonals and parts of a circle. 

Eddie Cory - For his amazing engagement, concentration and participation in Maths. 

 

Primary Week 9

Jaxton Swan - For his increased confidence and efforts when sounding out cvc words. 

Lewis Stokes - For his efforts in understanding the area of rectangles, especially when using hectares.

 

Primary Week 10

Lleyton Swan - For his improvement and effort when recognising sight words in reading.

Nyarii Munro - For taking responsibility for her learning by actively seeking assistance and contributing her responses during guided sessions.  

Douglas McGrady - For sharing his humour with others to bring joy to all members of Year 6.  

 

Secondary Week 8

Awarded for being a good listener -

Secondary Week 9

Trying Hard and Persist when things are tough - Jaylah Copeland, Naylarnii Munro, Lexi McGrady, Peyton West, Nusaiah See & Kyle Heinemann. 

 

Secondary students who have received two or more awards this term will be awarded with Pizza for lunch on Friday for the last day of school. 

Welcome 

This term we have welcomed Zac Sampson to our Aboriginal Education Assistant team. Zac joins Jaimee Ross & Jett Sampson with many years of experience working as an Aboriginal support worker. Zac is a former student of St. Philomena's who will be working in our primary and secondary departments. 

Grandparents Morning Tea & Mass

On Monday the 18th of September grandparents were invited to attend a Mass in our hall, a walk through their grandchildren's classrooms followed by a morning tea supplied by the school in the courtyard. Many grandparents came along for the morning, with lots of happy faces from students enjoying the morning with their loved ones. 

Term 3 Holidays

Term 3 Holidays will commence on Monday the 25th September to Friday the 6th of October with school recommencing on Monday the 9th of October. We hope you all have a safe and happy holiday. 

 

Warraymalaya Excursion 

Reminder for the secondary students attending the Warraymalaya Excursion on the first week of term 4. The bus is scheduled to leave St. Philomena's Bus Gate at 9am on the 9th of October and will return on the 13th of October. If you have any questions or concerns, Jaimee is contactable via mobile throughout the holidays.
