The Voice 2025

The Channel Seven 2025 production of The Voice is underway. What a pleasant surprise – the first contestant on Episode One was 25 year-old Jakamo Sharpe. Jakamo delighted the judges and had ‘a four chair turn’ which means he continues through to the ensuing stages of the competition.
Jakamo is the son of Benita and Dominic Sharpe. Dominic attended the College 1971-79. Dominic’s story was related in the July edition of OVAtions. Dom and Benita have resided in Cambodia since 2009 after winding up a very successful business in London. In February this year Dominic received a major award from the King of Cambodia for his contribution to Camkids (orphanage) and to the Liger Foundation. He was added to the St Virgil’s College Heritage Roll in 2013.
Jakamo and his sister, Theavy, completed their secondary schooling in Cambodia and then went to university in Melbourne and are currently working there.
Jakamo’s performance on night one of The Voice can be viewed on SEVEN +.
Dom and Benita travelled from Cambodia to support Jakamo in his ‘leap of faith’.
