Extraordinary Honour and Outstanding Representatives

The national football carnivals have been held recently in Queensland. 

The Under 16 squad which included four current students - Harvey Alomes, Campbell Barwick, Max Gulliver, and Jake Beams – convincingly won the Pool B title with victories over NSW / ACT, Queensland and the NT.

Post the carnival, an All-Australian side was selected from all six states and the two territories. Max Gulliver gained selection in this team and, furthermore, was named its captain. An extraordinary accolade!

The Tasmanian Under 15 also travelled to Queensland for its championships. A squad of 25 made the journey and it included six St Virgil’s student - Harvey Alomes, Caleb Haremza, Ryder Jones, Campbell Barwick (vice-captain), Asher Scott, and Mahli Bird. Tasmania finished second its pool with wins against Queensland and NSW,   and a loss to Victoria.
