Kitchen

It’s always a wonderful time in the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen! Our students have been busy cooking up a storm, creating delicious dishes using fresh produce harvested straight from our garden. While cooking, they are not only learning important culinary skills, but also developing teamwork, responsibility, and independence. From working collaboratively in the kitchen to tidying up their workstations, every step is a valuable learning experience. Best of all, they get to enjoy the fruits (and vegetables!) of their labour, knowing they played a part from garden to plate.

Eleanor - "My personal experience in the S.A.K.G kitchen program has taught me many things. I still remember the first time I stepped foot into the kitchen, you were immediately greeted with a warm welcome and delicious smells. The first class you take is an instructive class, where instead of doing the cooking ourselves, we watched the teachers cooking and learned how to use utensils properly and how to measure ingredients. The first meal I had in kitchen class was rose water watermelon salad, it was amazing! There is nothing quite like it."

Athletics Day

On Wednesday 30th July, our senior students from Years 3–6 took part in a range of track and field events at the AC Robinson Athletics Field. It was a fantastic day filled with energy, fun, and outstanding sportsmanship from all involved.

We extend a heartfelt thank you to all the parents and volunteers who helped make Athletics Day possible — we couldn’t have done it without you!

Congratulations to all students for giving it their best effort, and best of luck to those who have qualified for District.

AFL 9s Girls' Gala

On Thursday, 7th August, AFL Victoria hosted the 9s Girls' Gala Day, where Mr Cahill accompanied a group of talented Whitehorse girls to compete against other schools in the region. The team showcased exceptional skill, teamwork, and determination, winning all 7 of their matches. Their flawless performance has earned them a well-deserved place at the district competition, which will be held on Monday, 11th August. Congratulations to the team on this incredible achievement!
