What's On In Foundation

RESPONSIBLE PET OWNERSHIP

Tracie and her dog, Benson from the Responsible Pet Ownership program came to visit us as part of our unit on Community Helpers.

With Tracie and Benson’s help, Foundation students learned how to safely and kindly care for pets and how to interact with dogs in a safe, respectful way.

Tracie used fun songs and stories to teach our Foundations students how to safely meet dogs, know when they’re happy or scared, and what to do if a strange or upset dog comes near.

The best part of the session was getting to practice how to approach a dog and have a pat of Benson.

NUDEL KART

Foundation students now have another wonderful way to be creative … the Nudel Kart!

It’s a mobile play cart full of loose parts that kids can build and create with in endless ways. It’s all about imagination, teamwork, and learning through play.

We recently used it for the first time, and they loved it. Their challenge was to build a new doghouse for Benson. After planning in groups, the children shared ideas, experimented, built together, and then proudly showed their creations in a gallery walk.

The kids were so creative and very mindful of Benson. Our new dog homes had water bowls, play toys and a safe place for Benson to be
