Principal's Desk

Good afternoon OPS families, 

As Term 3 comes to a close, it is a great opportunity to reflect on the many wonderful events that the students, staff, and families have enjoyed throughout the term. I have had many highlights throughout the term, Book Week, Father's Day Feed, OPS has Talent, Students and Staff Footy Match and it was 'spectacular' to attend my first Victorian State School Spectacular. On Saturday, it was amazing to see so many of our staff, students, and families attend the performances to support and cheer on the OPS dancers.  Our performers displayed so much energy and enthusiasm in the rehearsals and shows, and it was great to see the connections that the students made through working as a team. I would like to take the time to thank Julian DeZilva, Braden Venning, and Julie Barrow for their time, effort, and commitment to giving our Grade 5 & 6 students the opportunity to participate in the 2025 VSSS.  

Today, students, staff, and families have said farewell to Ms Shannon Cooke. Shannon has been appointed to an administration position at Kulap Primary School; her position will start next term. Shannon has worked here at OPS since 2015. During her time here at OPS, Shannon has worked with many students, supporting them in classrooms and working with our families across the school, her friendly smile will certainly be missed. I would like to thank Shannon for her contributions to OPS over the last 11 years and would like to wish her all the very best in her new position. We have reminded Shannon not to be a stranger. 

Over the holidays we have lots of building works that will be started and hopefully completed (depending on the weather), the roof plumbers will be in to fix the roofs, some painting will be completed in Learning Neighbourhood 1, along with some external painting, the tree beds between Learning Neighbourhoods 1 and 2 will be extended, the asphalt will be fixed and the sandpit upgrade should be completed.  

I would like to wish all of our community a wonderful and happy holidays and I look forward to seeing everyone back in Term 4.
