We've reached the end of Term 3 already! It's been a wonderful term and I couldn't be prouder of the way our students have adapted to the changes, gone with the flow and worked hard in their learning. We've achieved a lot and I look forward to seeing what Term 4 has in store!
Here's a little recap of what we've been covering in the classroom:
Reading: Students have been working on a book review task for our focus text 'Huda and Me'. As part of their review they have been expected to demonstrate their understanding of the text by providing a succinct summary, explaining character descriptions and developments, analysing author's techniques and providing their own opinion.
Writing: We completed our writing project pieces and everyone did a wonderful job with this! To finish the term, we have explored explanatory texts.
Maths: Our Maths focus over the past couple of weeks has been revising our number skills and strategies, specifically around using column techniques.
Humanities: To complete our unit on Native Australian Animals, students have selected an animal of their choice and created a fact file that describes the distribution across Australia, human impacts on their habitat and conservation approaches to help the animals live happily and healthily.
Victorian State Schools Spectacular – Our VSSS performers put in a huge effort last week, completing two 12 hour days in the city for rehearsals on Thursday and Friday, before completing two shows in front of packed audiences on the Saturday!
We could not be prouder of their efforts across the past 6 months and it was great to see it all come together. Our students represented the school beautifully and made some very special memories!
SMBG Musical - High School Musical - Our 5/6 students had the absolute privilege of being invited to watch the dress rehearsal of the St Margaret's Berwick Grammar Junior Production of High School Musical!
We were unbelievably impressed by the talents of the Year 7 and 8 students, with so many of our own students excited and inspired by the experience!
