đŸŒ± Welcome to the Kitchen Garden – Term 1 Kick-Off!Â đŸ“đŸ„’

 

We’re excited to share the very first Kitchen Garden update for the school year! 

Our Grade 4 students have wasted no time getting their hands dirty and cooking up a storm in the kitchen.

During Weeks 1 and 2, the buzz of chopping, mixing and tasting filled the space as students worked together to create some truly delicious dishes using produce straight from our school garden.

The menu has celebrated all the best flavours of summer. Students baked peach muffins using sweet, juicy peaches harvested from the garden and made bread and butter pickles with our freshly picked zucchinis. They also baked fresh bread rolls, serving them with homemade pickles and a thin slice of cheese—simple, wholesome, and a big hit! To top it off, students whipped up a yummy corn salsa, packed with fresh herbs, crunchy cucumbers and vibrant cherry tomatoes from the garden

Summer time in the garden really is the best and it’s been wonderful to see students so engaged, curious and proud of what they’ve created.

 

If you’d like to try any of the recipes we’ve cooked, they’ll be shared in this space throughout the year. 

 

This is just the beginning of our Kitchen Garden journey, and we can’t wait to share many more tasty moments and learning experiences with you as the year unfolds! 🌞🍅
