Principal's Update:
What a fabulous start to our year!
Welcome to our new Prep families - it's an exciting journey starting at WMPS!
There is a real sense of momentum and optimism across our school, and I am really proud of the way our students, staff and families have begun the year together.
As a staff, we began the year with a dedicated staff professional learning day. We launched our 2026 goals and priorities. As a school, we are continuing our strong focus on literacy, numeracy and wellbeing. These are not just broad headings on a document — they shape the daily work in our classrooms, the professional conversations our teachers are having, and the way we support every child to grow.
Since then, our students and teachers have settled exceptionally well into their learning programs, both in their general classrooms and specialist subjects. I really enjoy hearing about all the adventures our students have had over the summer holidays.
I thoroughly enjoy taking all our PE classes — it’s a great way to see students' confidence and personalities shine.
Some early highlights:

Grade 3- 6 excursion to Melbourne Cable Park - a fantastic day out filled with
challenging team building activities developing resilience in our students.

Our Photographing, Filming and Recording Students policy, describes how we collect and use photographs, video and recordings of students. The policy also explains when parent consent is required and how it can be provided and withdrawn.
We ask parents to also review the guidance we provide on how we use Microsoft 365/Google Workspace for Education safely at the school and what parents can do to further protect their child’s information.
