Staff Report

The beginning of a new school year is always marked by a mix of farewells and welcomes - for both students and staff.
At St Joseph’s, we are fortunate to be welcoming a wonderful group of new staff to our community. We thank them sincerely for the commitment they have made in choosing to continue their professional journeys with us.
We warmly welcome to the Brigidine Campus: Tom Warren (Director), Lachlan Marshall (House Leader), Damien Charleston and Phoebe Moyle.
Joining our Kildare Campus team are Brooke Prust, Casey Frame, Rachelle Spence, Adrian Kumar, Kurt Dolson, Ian Toohey, Yvette Lupa, Phyllis Tallem and Campbell Ennis.
Together, this group brings more than 150 years of combined classroom experience, with many having taught across Australia and internationally.
We have also included Tyler Phillips in the photo. While Tyler has been part of our community for several years, this year he has taken on the exciting challenge of stepping into the classroom as a junior Technology teacher. Tyler is a wonderful example of the strong pathways and support we provide for training and graduate teachers at St Joseph’s.
Currently, five education support staff are training as teachers, with three already having transitioned into classroom roles. We are particularly proud of our exceptionally strong graduate retention record, having lost none to the profession, with most remaining with us for five to seven years.
As we welcomed new staff, the end of the 2025 school year also saw us farewell some much-loved colleagues as they move into retirement and new adventures. We would like to particularly acknowledge one significant retirement - Julie Pearson, who has served for more than 20 years.
Finally, this week we have also recognised our Staff Service Awards, which honour those who have given long and dedicated service to St Joseph’s and Catholic Education.
We congratulate Anne Marie Cairns (35 years) and Geraldine Ryan (30 years) for their extensive service across Catholic Education, and again acknowledge Lin Hamence for 35 years of service at St Joseph’s.
We thank these outstanding educators for the lasting impact they have had on students and colleagues alike.
We also acknowledge the following staff service milestones:
- 5 years: Janelle Maxfield, Clare Orton
- 10 years: Emily Coote, Teresa Devlin, Helen Fontana, Ash Hare, Will Jackson, Francis Lias, Rachel McAsey, Ruth Phillips, David Robinson, Matthew Scott
15 years: Felicity Hutton, Allison O’Brien, Frances Sciotto, Trev Stephens, Ben Wallis
In other exciting news, we congratulate Brock Kennedy on his recent marriage and Alex Hartell on the safe arrival of her daughter, Quinn Minnie.
