Sacred voices

During Catholic Education Week in July the Saints Choir performed in St Monica’s Cathedral alone and in conjunction with St Monica’s Colla Voce, MacKillop College Choir and the massed choir. The concert raised money for Rosies and celebrated the wonderful music programs we have across the diocese. Congratulations to all students involved in this wonderful concert.

SHEP

Five Saints students participated in the State Honours Ensemble Program last weekend. SHEP is run by the Queensland Conservatorium of Music Griffith University and is a program where students are selected from all over North Queensland to form a Wind Ensemble, Choir and String Orchestra over two days culminating in a concert. 

Congratulations to those involved – Jimmy Deldot (Year 7), Jimmy Marr (Year 8), Noah Garnett, Sam Holzhauser and Cooper Connors (all in Year 9) with an honourable mention to Tommy Deldot from St Joseph’s.

Upcoming events

We have a huge term coming up with a wide variety of events such as workshops with Melbourne Ska Orchestra, the Bishop's Ordination, Saints Unplugged Senior, excursions and other incursions. Please keep on top of the parent slips and information provided.

Spirit of Arts Awards

This award has been developed to recognise the work our arts students put into the College and wider community. It also serves as an encouragement for those students to take it a step further by mentoring younger students or organising an event themselves.  

The application is available now on the student portal or a hard copy can be obtained from the Arts/Music Department staffroom. If your son has exhibited artwork, entered work in a film festival, participated in the musical, sits external exams, performs at eisteddfod etc., he is eligible to apply.
