2026 Japanese Assistant Teacher

We’re delighted to announce that Ms Kaho Inui will be joining Ballarat High School next year as our 2026 Japanese Assistant Teacher.
Kaho is a 20-year-old university student from Kobe City University of Foreign Studies, where she studies linguistics, culture and teaching. She’s currently working towards her teaching license and volunteers in Japanese language classes, helping students with conversation practice. Kaho has a strong interest in language education, particularly how Japanese is taught in Australia and she’s eager to share her culture while learning more about ours.
Outside her studies, Kaho enjoys gaming, esports and travel. She has visited Korea and Taiwan, follows an esports team and loves exploring new places and trying local food. She also enjoys cooking and is keen to learn some Australian dishes with her host family.
Our assistant teachers play a vital role in helping students develop confidence and fluency. They bring authentic language and cultural experiences into the classroom, support students in conversation practice and provide insights into contemporary Japanese life that textbooks can’t replicate. Their presence enriches lessons and gives students a genuine connection to Japan and its people.
We are currently seeking families to host Kaho during her stay in Ballarat.
If you’re interested in hosting, please contact Mr Simon Coles through the school. Hosting an assistant teacher is a fantastic opportunity to share culture, language, everyday life and it’s a rewarding experience for both families and students.
