Konnichiwa, Monty Community!

Year 6 students have done a fantastic job creating their own poems inspired by 「生きる」(Ikiru, meaning “To Live”), originally written by Shuntaro Tanikawa, a famous Japanese poet and children’s book author.

We were very fortunate to have Junko sensei introduced this meaningful topic and guide one of the Year 6 classes through the first stages of the project. Students then continued developing their own poems, reflecting on what “being alive” and “living” means to them.

Each student created a unique and thoughtful poem, expressing the people, experiences, feelings and things that make life meaningful to them. It has been wonderful to see their creativity and personal ideas come through in their work.
