Year 5 Camp 🏕️🌿
Our Year 5 students recently returned from a fantastic few days away at Camp Oasis in Mt Evelyn, and by all accounts it was a brilliant experience.
A huge shout out to our Year 5 students for the way they conducted themselves throughout the camp. Their behaviour was outstanding, and it was fantastic to see them embrace the experience, step outside their comfort zones and throw themselves into the many different activities and challenges on offer. Camps provide such a valuable opportunity for students to build independence, strengthen friendships and experience success in a completely different environment, and our Year 5s certainly made the most of it.
We also had a member of the MPS Leadership Team visit each day of the camp, and it was a real highlight to spend time with the students and staff in a different setting. There were plenty of smiles, stories and tired faces and it was great to see firsthand just how much the students were getting out of the experience.
Finally, a huge thank you to our staff who made the camp possible. Giving up time with family and loved ones (not to mention the comfort of their own beds!) to spend several days and nights caring for our students is a significant commitment. We are incredibly grateful to the staff who attended and for the energy, care and enthusiasm they brought to the experience.
Well done to everyone involved in another terrific MPS camp!
Term 3 Wrap Up! 👏🌟
As another busy term comes to an end, I’d like to take the opportunity to thank our entire MPS community for another wonderful term.
As always, there has been plenty happening across the school over the past ten weeks. Alongside the learning taking place in our classrooms every day, our students have had the opportunity to participate in camps, excursions, sporting events, special activities and many other experiences that make school life at MPS so enjoyable. It has been fantastic to see our students continuing to learn, grow, challenge themselves and make the most of these opportunities.
A huge thank you to our staff for the energy, care and commitment they continue to bring to MPS each day. School terms are busy places and there is an enormous amount of work that goes on both in front of and behind the scenes to provide the experiences and support our students receive. I am incredibly appreciative of everything our staff contribute.
Thank you also to our families for your ongoing support of our students, staff and school. Whether it is volunteering, attending events, supporting learning at home or simply working alongside us when needed - that partnership remains such an important part of what makes MPS a great place to learn and work.
Most importantly, well done to our students. We continue to be incredibly proud of the way they represent MPS and demonstrate our values of Connection, Curiosity, Courage and Compassion. They have certainly earned the opportunity for a break as well!
Term 4 promises to be another big one, with plenty to be packed into it as we finish another year of learning, welcome our 2027 Foundation students through transition, celebrate our Year 6 students and begin preparing for everything that comes with a new school year. With that in mind, I hope everyone uses the holidays as an opportunity to rest, recharge and return ready for a busy and exciting final term.
Enjoy the break, spend some quality time with family and friends and, hopefully, enjoy a little bit of warmer weather along the way.
