On Wednesday 3rd June, we had special visitors from Ms Rochelle and Ms Jaylyn who taught us all about beach safety. We learnt about staying safe in the water and on the sand, swimming between the flags and dangerous animals that may be spotted at the beach. They learnt about how to spot a rip, and what to do if you get into danger at the beach, and how the Life Savers help our community.

Our school disco was a fantastic celebration last Thursday. Students lit up the hall with their energetic dance moves, big smiles and plenty of colour. It was wonderful to see families joining in the fun and supporting the event. Thank you to everyone who helped make the night special.

This week our students enjoyed a hands-on sustainability lesson focused on composting and worm farming run by Miss Sue. They learned about the different types of waste that can be added to a compost system, including "green waste" (fruit and vegetable scraps) and "brown waste" (dry leaves and paper). Students explored the important role compost worms play in breaking down food scraps and discovered how worm wee and worm castings can be used to help plants grow. It was a fantastic opportunity for students to learn where their food scraps go and how they can help reduce waste while caring for our environment.

This week we've been learning about hefting - comparing different obejects to see which one was heavier and lighter. The children also used balance scales to compare the weights of various objects.

Please join us for Year P-2 Mass next Thursday, 18th June at 9.15am.
St Francis Xavier Church.
Students are welcome to sit with their families who attend.
