Annual School Band Concert

Last Friday evening, our Concert Band performed before an enthusiastic audience of parents, grandparents and friends. 

This annual December concert is the culmination of a year’s hard work and dedication. We were proud to have 40 talented musicians from St Francis Xavier’s on stage, supported by five wonderful helpers: Phil Davies (tuba), Emily Elwood (clarinet), Peter Carrett (trumpet), Rod Ritchie (percussion), and former student Bella Campbell (trumpet).

The band performed eight pieces in total, including Let It Go, I’m a Believer, Friend Like Me and My Favourite Things. 

The students’ performance was a credit to them! Their enthusiasm, teamwork and commitment certainly shone through, and the positive feedback has been wonderful to hear.

After the concert, families enjoyed a sausage sizzle generously funded by Whitehaven Coal. A big thank you to our BBQ chefs and to all the parents who helped pack up afterwards. Your support is greatly appreciated!
