Year 6 Reflections

Years 5 & 6 - 6D

My Year 5 highlight was going to camp. For camp, we went to Sovereign Hill. At camp, there were so many fun things to do. My highlight was when we were in our cabin, we had so much fun and got to know more about each other. The best activity was panning for gold because I found a few small pieces! By: Alaistair  6D

This year, a highlight was Market Day which was fun to experience because we had never organised it before and we put in so much work for the lower grades to have fun. We think everyone had so much fun running a stall. Although it was weird to talk to younger students, we are very proud because we were able to act like real salespeople. Our stall sold crochet items and pot plants. We made a big profit and were able to celebrate with a pizza lunch with Miss Epskamp! By: Aleina & Faith 6D

This year, the Production was on the 1st of September 2026. The production was called Porridge. It was a great experience because this was the first time that we had ever seen Porridge. It was very fun and creative! Mx Dutlow and Miss Dowling put in a lot of effort for all the grades to have a time to shine on the stage. It was my favourite production so far at Highvale Primary School! I even got to play the character called Ruthie, who was a waitress at the diner. By Grace 6D

Years 3 & 4 - 6T

In 2024 I was in grade 4 where we had the production, STAR WARTS, which was based on the movie ‘Star Wars’. It was a fun time to get to know each other whilst learning and performing in a production. My highlight would be performing in the production with all my friends and my parents seeing me, all though I kind of hated that we had to practice each day even though it was still a tremendous opportunity to take part in it!! In grade 3 we had Philip Island camp. It was extremely fun. We did the giant swing, flying fox, night activities and so much more. The cabin groups were pretty good, there were five to six people in a cabin. The cabins had a bathroom, two single beds and two bunk beds. The wood was ok, but the dessert was amazing. Years P, 1 &2 - 6S

During Prep we were in lockdown for half of the year because of COVID. We remember using Seesaw and celebrating 100 Days of Prep in a Zoom call, iIt was an online dance party! We learnt the alphabet using Letterland and some of our favourite characters were: Sally Snake, Milo Monkey & Vicky Vulture. We were back at school for Term 4 and remember making hand made paper Christmas ornaments for our class Christmas tree.

Our Year 1 and 2 highlights included an excursion to Scienceworks, the School Production titled Quest where we all dressed up as dwarves. We had a Mini Beast incursion in the library and were able to interact with frogs, lizards, stick insects, scorpions and spiders. We remember having a few different teachers when our classroom teachers left on maternity leave.
