Mathematics Enrichment Opportunities – APSMO

APSMO Mathematical Problem-Solving Achievements

At Highvale Primary School, we are proud to celebrate the students who participated in the Australasian Problem Solving Mathematical Olympiads (APSMO) programs this year. These programs challenge students to think deeply, apply their mathematical knowledge creatively and develop their problem-solving, reasoning and perseverance skills.

Students across Years 1–6 participated in age-appropriate programs: Maths Quest for Years 1–2, Maths Explorer for Years 3–4 and Maths Olympiad for Years 5–6.

Throughout the competition, students tackled challenging mathematical problems that encouraged them to think flexibly, explore different strategies and explain their reasoning.

Congratulations to all students who participated and embraced the challenge! We would also like to recognise the outstanding achievements of students who placed in the top 25% and top 10% of competitors, in the 5-6 Maths Olympiad.

These results reflect their dedication, mathematical thinking and commitment to extending their learning.

Top 10% Achievers: Lin R, Artus G

Top 25% Achievers: Aaron P, Mishkaat A, Chong Ze O, Aadhi S

Congratulations to all students who participated and embraced the challenge of 3-4 Maths Explorer. Out of the 38 students, the top 10 students were:

Nimmrit L, Katerina H, Chen X, Kayden W, Olivia G, Yun-Hai L, Markus H, Kiaan D, Bob W, and Dante D.

Well done to all our young mathematicians! We look forward to continuing to build a culture of curiosity, challenge and excellence in mathematics at HPS.
