Sunnyfield Disability Indoor Sports Day
On the 26th August, McCarthy Yr 9 students assisted Sunnyfield Disability Services hosted the third annual Indoor Sports Day. The fun-filled event supported 120 people with disabilities from the New England region to engage in a range of mixed sports.
The Sunnyfield Indoor Sports Day is a yearly highlight for participants, many of whom travel from as far afield as Narrabri, Gunnedah, Armidale, Inverell and Glen Innes. The Sports Day was full of laughter and lots of friendships were formed along with some healthy competition. McCarthy students adjusted the skills according to the certain disability the participant had which portrayed their ability to problem solve and succinctly demonstrate how to successfully achieve the activity.
Congratulations to the following students for their outstanding support of others in a respectful and supportive manner: Archie Barry, Jackson Brooks, Lucie Collison, Abby Elliott, Ailie Gibson, Meredith Gilbert, Hannah Kapeller, Ashtyn King, Sarah Martin, Cooper McAuley, Mia Murray, Milla Panton, Izaak Parsons, Jasmine Ryan, Keyondre Smith, Kimberly Stonestreet and Abigail Walker. Thank you to Charlotte Bridge for her support and encouragement of our students throughout the day.

NSW All Schools Athletics
During the School Holidays the NSW All Schools Athletics carnival was held in Sydney.
The team had a fantastic All Schools meet with impressive results. They did themselves and the school proud.
They achieved some great PBs and valuable competition lessons and even managed a 3rd place podium finish with Isabella and discus.
