Athletics Carnival

Our 2025 school Athletics Carnival was once again held at Riviera Park. After initially being cancelled due to the heatwave in early March, mother nature looked after us on 25 March and gave us a beautiful day to enjoy. A huge thank you must go to all the staff for all the hard work they put in, as well as everyone from the Seaford Little Athletics Club. A day like that doesn’t run without a massive effort from everyone involved. Well done also to all the students who turned out in team colours and got involved, making for a great carnival. The next round of competition will be the NPD Championships held in Term 3.

Swimming Carnival

We recently held our school Swimming Carnival on a beautiful sunny day at Pines Pool. A big thank you to all the staff for all the hard work they put in, and an even bigger thank you to all the students who turned out in team colours and got involved, making for a great carnival. An extra special mention to the VM students who did a fantastic job running activities around the pool all day. Well done team!

The results from the carnival saw Freeman as the overall winners on the day, with Aston coming in as runners up. Monash and Derrimut finished 3rd and 4th respectively. The 2025 Ultimate Eels were Briana H and Griffin D, who each took home the title as the fastest individual swimmers in the school!

A special mention to 3 swimmers who went on to collect medals at the NPD Championships. Congratulations to Griffin D, Kate M and Ben J.

Term 1 Interschool Sport

Patterson River Secondary College competed in the Northern Peninsula Division in Volleyball, Tennis, Baseball and Cricket. We had many teams competing across all year levels. Well done to all the students who represented the school and a massive thank you to the teachers who gave up their time to train and coach these teams in what was a busy start to the year.

Congratulations to the Year 7 Girls Tennis team on winning the NPD Championships. Coached by Todd James, they will go on to compete at the SMR Championships in Term 4.

The Summit with Outdoor Education Students

On 17 March, the Year 11 Outdoor Education students went to 'The Summit' for a fun day full of activities. We did a challenging obstacle course through water and mud that involved crawling through underground tunnels, swimming under barbed wire, carrying tyres, climbing ropes and working together as a team. It was a race between three different groups lead by Ms Riddle, Mr Garton and Mr Walton for a reward of hot chips. Everyone enjoyed themselves and had a wonderful experience. After completing the course, we were all exhausted and were then met with a a secret hidden challenge. The winning group was Ms Riddle's group who dominated the competition. Overall, everybody had a great time and would love to do it again.
