Formal Fun Lights up the Evening
On 7 March, our senior school students gathered for one of the most anticipated events of the year—Formal Night—and it did not disappoint. Held at the Mornington Racecourse, the evening was a dazzling mix of style, laughter and unforgettable memories.
From the moment students arrived, the atmosphere buzzed with excitement. Dresses sparkled, suits impressed and cameras clicked as everyone made their grand entrance.
A highlight of the night was the dance floor, which was packed with fun and the best dance moves, there was never a dull moment. The photo booth was another crowd favourite, capturing silly poses and shining smiles, solidifying these memories for life.
Delicious finger food was passed around, awards were won and a sense of celebration filled the night. For many students, it was a chance to reflect on their journey and celebrate with friends before heading into their final months of school and to get excited about what was to come.
Formal Night wasn’t just an event—it was a celebration of friendship, growth and school spirit. It’s safe to say it will be remembered fondly for years to come.

Year 11 Youth Leadership Conference with YLAA
On 27 May, the Year 11 leaders went to Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre to participate in leadership based activities and workshops with Youth Leadership Academy Australia. We learnt about empowerment and motivation as well as how to create a transformative and inclusive community. We heard inspirational talks from guest speakers such as Fiona Sanford, the former CEO of The Flourish Journey, Noah Yang, the founder of We Are Mobilise and Wil Massara, the founder of Youth Leadership Academy Australia. Each speaker gave us advice and an insight into what leadership looks like in not only school but the whole community, especially as a young person. During the breaks we were able to meet and connect with other students from different schools around Melbourne through fun games and activities. The whole event was very fun and engaging. It gave us the confidence to lead our school and community as well as prepare us for the future of leadership.

Year 11 Review
So far, this term has been jampacked with fun and exciting activities for all Year 11 students to participate in including The Tomorrow Man and Tomorrow Woman workshops, the Elevate Education session and the Senior School Formal.
Elevate Education is a company that provides targeted sessions to students to implement study skills. From the Elevate session we learnt that by studying effectively you are able to get the marks you want and achieve excellence in all subjects by maintaining focus and motivation to achieve your personal best in exams and in classwork.
Tomorrow Man and Tomorrow Woman is a workshop that focuses on reducing stereotypes for men and women. Tomorrow Man was about reinventing masculinity disrupting stereotypes and building emotional muscle. Tomorrow Woman is about creating a world where all women are heard and able to speak up without feeling judged. Following the workshop the Year 11 cohort participated in a wellbeing session and a scavenger hunt. The wellbeing session focussed on finding ways to take time away from study and how you can balance school – life and how you can manage your wellbeing. The scavenger hunt and music trivia was a fun and rewarding way to finish the day surrounded with all of the Year 11 students.
So far, Year 11 has been a combination of stressful and really enjoyable for VCE and VCE VM students.
