Year 7 Term 1 Review

What a term it has been for our Year 7 students! We are so incredibly proud of the way in which our students have conducted themselves in their first term of secondary school. They have embraced our values and set themselves in good stead for their futures at the College.

We would like to congratulate our student leaders for 2025. The process of selection was extensive and it was amazing to have over 40 applications submitted. It was a very difficult decision, but we are so pleased to be able to announce our leadership team for Year 7 2025.

Already these students have been put through their paces and have participated in Open Night, run an extended assembly and have been responsible for putting our flags up each day. A special mention to Ryan and Tamara who were tasked with the big job of presenting the Year 7 Leaders' speech at Open Night. With over 400 people in our Performing Arts Centre, they should be very proud of themselves for they way in which they conducted themselves. Well done!

We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our students on their understanding of our school values. In Term 1, students at Year 7 received an incredible 655 positive recognition posts. What an achievement! An extra shout out to Ellie S for achieving the most posts this term – 15 in total. Well done, Ellie!

At our extended assembly last week, we were delighted to be able to share some messages of support from our local primary school teachers. Ms Licciardo from Chelsea Heights Primary School remembered fondly the “Mascara Gang” and hoped that students were listening to their teachers. Mr Eden and Ms Gnomes from Seaford North Primary School took us on a tour of the building works and told us that Mr Eden didn’t like cars anymore – that earned quite a few surprised looks between the ex-Seaford North Primary School students.

 Things to look forward to:

  • Learning for Me classes will begin their work on the Six Ways of Wellbeing and will focus on staying connected and managing emotions.
  • Our Peer Support program will begin.
  •  Brainstorm Productions incursion

Jack and Ella’s journey isn’t just another story - it’s a call to action for everyone navigating the online world. The Flipside dives into the complex world of digital behaviour, encouraging students to rethink what’s funny, safe or toxic. From bullying to bystander action, this show is all about creating a respectful, resilient digital community

We look forward to another wonderful term with our Year 7 students. Have a wonderful break and we will see you all after Easter.
