Term 1 Wellbeing Review

Wellbeing have had a very busy start to the 2025 school year. In team news, I’d firstly like to welcome back our Social Worker, Erika Blazely, to the Wellbeing team. Erika has been on leave for the past year, after welcoming her son Cian. We are thrilled to have Erika back onboard for 2025. In other news, Taela Davis has recently gone on leave, having recently welcomed her son Marley. We wish Taela all the best as she settles into life with a newborn and hope to see her back towards the end of the 2025 school year. Finally, we sadly said farewell to Sarah Stephens. We thank Sarah for her amazing work and wish her all the very best in her new role.

Our highlight this term has certainly been our whole school Harmony Week event. This event has been an ongoing collaboration between the Wellbeing team and Student Voice team at the College. Harmony week has been a truly fantastic celebration and acknowledgment of the diversity within our school community. Harmony Week really aligns with our core school values of Community and Respect through the promotion of a more inclusive and respectful environment, where everyone belongs. It’s important for our College community to really embrace all cultures and backgrounds as our students continue to forge their own positive identities in these formative adolescent years.  A huge thank you to Kingston Youth for their support and attendance throughout the week.

Breakfast Club has been up and running on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. You will find your friendly breakfast club hosts Michael & Jess from the Wellbeing  team there each morning with an assortment of cereals, toast, milk and fruit. All students across the College are invited to attend. Breakfast Club is free, as we are lucky enough to have our food donated by Food Bank and Eat Up organisations. Students attending are expected to demonstrate our College values, especially our value of Respect, by cleaning up after themselves, being sensible with food provisions and using their manners during their Breakfast Club visits. We love greeting so many of our students on Breakfast Club mornings and giving them a really positive and well fed start to their day.
