HPV and Pushcart Team News

PUSH CART NEWS

Recently, we have turned our focus to the presentation and scrutineering aspect of the Maryborough event. This involves each team creating and presenting a PowerPoint on the journey.  Scrutineering requires the students to be able to break apart and rebuild each cart in a certain time period. They also need to answer questions on how the cart was built and the sustainability aspects of it.

Training has been frequent and focused with the students applying themselves well.

Our fastest lap time around the school track, which include driver changeovers, are as follows:

Week 9- Kobe/Tatum 1min 40 seconds

IMPORTANT- In term 4, training will be changing to Monday nights 3:40-4:15 instead of Thursday to fix a scheduling conflict.

Here are a few updates about Pushcart Energy Breakthrough events coming up:

Friday September 20th: There will be a fundraising event at the Bendigo Cinemas for the Push Cart Team. The movie is "Runt" and anyone is invited to attend.

Movie starts at 6pm. Duration 1hour and 30 minutes.

Tickets are available for purchase right now at the front gate each morning or at the office anytime.

HPV TEAM UPDATE

Term three has come to a close and as always our team has been hard at work. Wet weather has been a blessing as our riders have taken to the wet track and begun to develop their handling skills in the wet conditions. October will be our prelim final of sorts and the final round of the Victorian HPV Series as we head off to the ever popular Casey Fields.

With a big focus on average lap time, its has been wonderful to see so many students hitting the 44 second mark, our minimum expectation for a rider stint.

Keep up the fitness levels over the two week break, read for one last push towards Maryborough when we return.
